On July, the Swiss Explorer Darrell and his 3 children arrived in Shanghai by bike. They shared their ecological world tour with tourists at the Swiss Pavilion in World Expo.

According to the Darryl couple, the expedition will last 12 years. It is the first global expedition relying solely on manpower and natural forces (wind and solar energy).


Her husband is a Swiss climologist and climber and captain of the expedition team. His wife, Sabin, is a professional nurse.

In 2002, after witnessing the impact of climate change on the Alps, the couple decided to start the global climate Exploration Tour.

In addition to walking and biking, the pport vehicle they use at sea is a fully automatic sailing made in Switzerland, which is powered by solar energy and wind energy.

The 3 children of Darrell and his wife were born during the world tour.


So far, they have been sailing more than 70 thousand kilometers on the sea. They have climbed the peak of 400 thousand meters in height, and have traveled by more than 18 thousand kilometers, and have communicated with 46 thousand students from all over the world.

From July 5th to 8, 11 to 13 every day, they will share their experiences with visitors in Switzerland.
