Shandong Will Focus On Supporting The Development Of The Six Major Industrial Clusters, Including Textiles.

The Shandong provincial government recently issued the "opinions on accelerating the development of industrial clusters". Before 2010, Shandong will focus on 300 industrial clusters with over 1 billion yuan in revenue, 100 operating income over 5 billion yuan, and 50 operating income exceeding 10 billion yuan in the six major industries of equipment manufacturing, electronic information and household appliances, textile and clothing, chemical and pharmaceutical, food and agricultural products processing, and building materials.

According to the opinion, from 2008 onwards, Shandong will support the development of industrial clusters into the scope of special funds for the development of provincial small and medium enterprises, adopt loan discount and special subsidies to support the development of leading enterprises in industrial clusters, the construction of public service platforms, the development of common key technologies and the extension of industrial chains.

Banks and related financial institutions in Shandong should establish effective mechanisms to give priority to lending support to small and medium sized enterprises supporting industrial clusters, and further promote the construction of financing guarantee system, encourage the development of various forms of guarantee institutions such as sole proprietorship, shareholding system, membership system, and expand financing channels for the development of small and medium enterprises and industrial clusters.
