2009/4/9 0:00:00 28

Following the EU's decision to ban the import of methyl fumarate (DMF) at the beginning of this year, the Ministry of health of Italy issued a decree in the near future to confiscate and test products that use DMF as mould inhibitor in Italy market.

DMF is a chemical mildew inhibitor widely used in the sterilization and anti mould treatment of leather, footwear, clothing and other textile products.

It is usually packaged in a closed small package, but when it is overheated or heated, DMF will volatilize from the packaging bag and penetrate into the product. It may lead to skin irritation, rash, dermatitis and other allergic symptoms.

The Ministry of health, Ministry of health, pointed out that in recent years, a large number of Chinese products were found in the European Union market, using DMF as a mildew inhibitor. The mould proof bags containing DMF were put into shoes, furniture, leather and helmet products.

The Ministry of Health asked the Italy military police to conduct a key search for the above products. Once mildew agents were found, they were immediately sent to the Institute of health for testing whether they contained DMF components.

In addition, products similar to those imported from China and other EU countries, including those containing powdered mildew and moisture-proof agents, will also be subject to spot checks.
