Strangulation or suffocation has become the most frequent word in the European and American reasons for the recall of textiles and clothing in China.

Of the 139 apparel products recalled in the first quarter of the European Union (RAPEX2010), 129 of the recalls were caused by the straining easily suffocating, with a total of up to 93%.

In the first quarter of 2010, the US CPSC recalled 15 textile and clothing products. The reason for the recall was 100% asphyxia risk.

This is not a sudden phenomenon. In 2009, 97 of the 253 textile and clothing products recalled by EU RAPEX were asphyxiated.

Among the 53 textile and apparel products recalled by CPSC in the United States, 46 recalled the cause of suffocation. 15 of the 16 household textile products recalled were due to asphyxia.

EU and US technical regulations and standards have made strict limits on the rope of children's clothing. However, due to asphyxiation, the recall events are still endless, which has caused huge economic losses to domestic textile and garment export enterprises.

However, according to the latest data, there is no improvement in the recall of strangulation or suffocation in 2010.

Chinese manufacturing enterprises should attach great importance to the contents of European and American clothing safety regulations, actively seek countermeasures, and evaluate the safety performance of product design.

The recall of "strangulation or suffocation" of textile and clothing needs to be highly valued by relevant departments and enterprises.
