Brazil'S Leather Export Increased By 21% From January To September

Leather is one of Brazil's main exports. According to the statistics of Brazil leather industry center (CICB), from January to September, Brazil's leather export reached 1.62 billion US dollars, an increase of 21% over the same period in 2006. The value of its exports of leather in the same period was more than US $1.49 billion (equivalent to US $1.49 billion) of Brazil's exports in the same period. In Brazil, 60% of leather is supplied to the automotive and furniture industries, while the rest is supplied to handicrafts, clothing and footwear. From January to September, Brazil's leather export target markets were mainly Italy (27.21%, 26% higher than the same period in 2006), China (23.35%, 47% higher than the same period in 2006) and Hong Kong (11.32%, 12% higher than the same period in 2006). Sao Paulo's leather exports accounted for 35% of Brazil's total leather exports, followed by Nandahe Prefecture, accounting for 24%.
