The fitting mirror is not only a mirror, but also a website.

Obviously, high technology has penetrated into another area of shopping.

Mirror

What is the use of it?

Just imagine, you are trying on a dress in the fitting room of North Tong. You want to find a pair of shoes to match this dress, or you want to know about other customers' comments on this dress, or do you want the salesperson to find another color or size for this dress, do you have to dress up again and go out to the fitting room to find a salesperson?

In two stores in Seattle and San Jose, North used eBay technology to relieve customers of these worries.

These shop fitting rooms will use a high-tech whole body mirror. You only need to touch the mirror with your fingers. It will become an interactive screen.

The cream of the two world

Many customers are there.

Fitting Room

Before deciding whether to buy clothes, hi-tech has never stepped onto the site.

Now with the help of eBay technology, the smart fitting room has taken shape.

"The way customers buy clothes has changed," said Jamie North, a director of North communications, who was the head of the company's direct digital business.

"Customers sitting on the sofa at home can browse a lot of information, and we can make use of these information and use them to benefit the fitting room, so that customers can enjoy the cream of the two world."

In this era of e-commerce, retailers are eager to make full use of their own stores, combine them with the virtual world, and provide the essence of the two world for customers.

In embracing technology, North has always been the leader of physical retailers.

The company plans to invest US $1 billion 200 million in hi-tech from this year to 2018, covering e-commerce, logistics centers, and in store service pformation (for example, the networked fitting room).

Last quarter, North's comparable sales volume in department stores showed how important it is to get more income from shoppers who come to stores.

The department store looking for the forefront of retail technology not only connects North.

Messi's department store's high-end brand store Bloomingdale is also testing the water smart fitting room recently, but it uses wall mounted iPad instead of North interactive interactive mirror.

"Customers often use their pocket devices to view those contents," said Wendy Liebmann, chief executive of WSL strategy retail companies.

"A lot of people are used to doing this, so this is an opportunity."

The eBay technology used by North's smart fitting room actually appears in the two fashion shops of fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, but the test results of North will be more convincing for the question of whether retailers can widely use smart fitting rooms, because the company has larger scale, more inventory and more complex needs.

The industry believes that whether North will install this fitting mirror in more stores depends on whether the current trial operation is successful.

Mirror mirror tells me

When you choose clothes in North store and enter the smart fitting room, you can scan the bar code of your clothes. Then, if you need other sizes or colors of a particular garment, you can check if there is any stock in the store, and tell the salesperson to take it to the fitting room.

For eBay, the technology is another innovation.

It also provided an interactive storefront technology for four stores in Manhattan, Kate and Spade, so that customers could choose goods and place orders on the street.

Ming Ke Fu's storefront can also remember what customers tried to wear before patronizing.

You may think that this is the most advanced technology, more suitable for tall shops, but eBay believes that the technology is also suitable for those retail chains that sell at low prices.

It can be a shining mirror in the fitting room on the tall shop.

In the low-end shops, it can be a large screen hanging on the wall of the store.

For eBay, cooperation with North can enhance the reputation of "retail technology innovators" in e-commerce and physical stores.

At present, sales of physical stores are still at the top of total sales.

EBay also collaborated with Simon Property Group to create "interactive shopping malls" to recommend to customers the celebration and preferential activities held on the day of Simon.

The growth of technology services will also help eBay prepare for the PayPal spin off in 2015.

"Is eBay just an e-commerce company, or a partner of all e-commerce businesses? This is a matter of our identity."

Steve Yankovich vice president of innovation eBay Steve Yankovich said (Kathy).
