According to the information obtained at the the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region industrial and information conference in 2019, Xinjiang's economic performance showed a trend of "stabilizing and improving quality" in 2018, achieving an industrial added value of 350 billion yuan, an increase of about 3.8%.

In 2018, Xinjiang persisted in supporting and giving priority to the development of labor-intensive industries represented by the textile and garment industry and the electronic product assembly industry, and promoted the textile and garment industry to extend to the printing and dyeing, clothing and other terminal industries, and the number of employed persons continued to increase.

The labour intensive industry has increased 152 thousand and 100 jobs, accounting for 1/3 of new employment in Xinjiang, and has become the backbone of employment in southern Xinjiang.

At the same time, Xinjiang increased its financial support in 2018. The special funds for the development of the park and the special funds for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises were more than 50%, which mainly supported southern Xinjiang, helped a number of processing enterprises to settle down, a number of satellite factories were put into operation, and a number of poverty alleviation industrial parks were built.

In 2019, Xinjiang will vigorously develop the agricultural and sideline products processing industry in addition to the sustainable development of the garment industry, home textiles and other terminal industries with large employment capacity. It is expected that industrial added value will grow by 5%, industrial investment will increase by 5% and labour intensive industries will drive 100 thousand new jobs.
