At present, the brand building of China's textile and clothing industry has entered a new stage of comprehensive accumulation of brand assets and rising brand value, which has become an important support and leading force for Made in China to break the inherent impression lock, enter high-quality development, and enhance cultural soft power.
In order to speed up the construction of a modern textile industry system, deepen the implementation of the "three products" strategy, and implement the key task of "continuing to carry out brand value evaluation and promotion activities" proposed in the 14th Five Year Development Outline of the textile industry, the China Textile Industry Federation organized industry experts based on relevant international standards and national standards, Research and develop the evaluation system of textile and clothing brand value, establish the optimization algorithm model, and calculate and publish the list of "Chinese textile and clothing brand competitive advantage enterprises" with brand value exceeding 5 billion yuan every year through voluntary declaration of enterprises from 2021.
Brand is an intangible asset of an enterprise, and brand value is the value of monetization by predicting the excess earnings that the brand can create for the enterprise in the future. In economic activities, monetized brand value can provide a reference basis for enterprise bidding, financing, joint venture, trademark licensing, trademark infringement litigation and other activities. On the consumer side, advantageous brands can not only bring significant market recognition to enterprises, but also build a strong sense of trust and loyalty in consumers' hearts, and constantly stabilize their market position.
This evaluation is based on the national standard of Brand Value Evaluation Textile Clothing, Shoes and Hats Industry (GB/T 31278-2014) "Multi cycle excess return method" model Key elements include: brand cash flow, period of rapid growth, proportion coefficient of intangible asset income attributable to brand, brand value discount rate, sustainable growth rate, industry average asset return rate, and brand strength coefficient.
Through scientific evaluation of monetized brand value, the system judges the level of brand development, and the evaluation will provide a direction reference for the improvement of brand competitiveness. At the same time, the list of top competitive enterprises worth more than 5 billion will be released to help enterprises improve brand awareness and market influence.

In 2023, China Textile Federation released a total of 80 "China Textile and Clothing Brand Competitive Advantage Enterprises" with brand values of more than 5 billion yuan, with brand values totaling 2.8 trillion yuan, and 6 enterprises with brand values exceeding 100 billion yuan. 39 enterprises worth more than 10 billion yuan.
