Deckers Wants To Enter The Chinese Market

Footwear manufacturer Deckers Outdoor (DECK.O) said it formed a $5 million joint venture with 1836.HK, a shoe maker in Taiwan, in order to set up a retail store in China and establish a wholesale distribution channel for its core brand UGG Australia.

Deckers said it would own a 51% stake in the joint venture and the lower part would be held by nine Hing Holdings.

Deckers plans to set up one or two stores in China this year.

Nine Hing Holdings is LVMH (LVMH.PA), Paul Smith, Prada, Hugo Boss (BOSG_p.DE0, Camper, Nine West, West, Camper and Nine), and its brand has more than 100 high-end brands, such as retail outlets.
